And we believe it's all about computing power, not computers.

Today, computers have become an integral part of our life, yet they are still high-maintenance tools that complicate our life as much as they help. Most small businesses do not budget for IT staff yet they cannot afford to be without the information their computers deliver. Today, information systems are an essential part of every business, yet most firms spend more money on systems than information. Quad Micro Works made it its business to harness its IT expertise in small affordable packages and deliver the computing power to homes and small offices everywhere. Square One Personal Internet Server is the latest incarnation of Quad Micro Works' vision and mission.

Our Background

Quad Micro Works (a dba name of SMI GMS) has been a leader in the computer industry since 1997, when SMI successfully launched the SmartTouch, an innovative Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), in the Australian market. With cutting-edge features such as instant power-on and multilingual handwriting recognition, the product was well received by both critics and the public.

In 2006, SMI launches the Quad Micro Works brand, of which the first product is the Square One Personal Internet Server, a revolutionary synthesis of the network functionalities most important to consumers and small businesses, all in one box.
