Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This package contains a hard disk image file for Square One Personal Internet Server. This image will install the latest service and application files to Square One's internal hard disk, optionally deleting all existing files on the system partition (/hdd/1). (No files on the user partition, /hdd/3, will be deleted.) IMPORTANT NOTES: If you have stored any files on the system partition (/hdd/1), and you wish to keep these files while installing this hard disk image, be sure to select "No" for the "Remove user files?" option on the HDD Image Installation page. Also, if you have edited any of the Apache Web service's configuration files (in /hdd/1/apache/conf), you should back them up to your computer before installing the hard disk image and then restore them afterwards, as the image installation process will overwrite these files. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ II. Installation Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To install this hard disk image: 1. Extract the contents of this ZIP archive to a folder on your computer. 3. In your browser, go to the Square One admin interface (the default URL is http://192.168.1.1:8090). 3. Click Administration, and then click HDD Image Installation. 4. If you want to DELETE any files you have stored in the system partition (/hdd/1), select 'Yes' for the "Remove user files?" option. Otherwise, leave the setting at 'No'. 5. Click Browse, find and select the file 'p1.tar.gz', and then double-click it. 6. Click Install. When you click Install, Square One will copy the hard disk image file to its internal hard disk in preparation for installation. Please note that the copying process can take one minute or more to complete, and there will be no indication of progress while the file is being copied. Please do not move away from the HDD Image Installation page during this time. When copying is complete, Square One will proceed with image installation. At this time, you should see a progress indicator in your browser. If the progress indicator is not displayed within sixty seconds after you click the Install button, you can force the progress indicator to be displayed by clicking the Home icon on the navigation bar. If no progress indicator is displayed even after clicking the Home icon, the hard disk image probably was not successfully copied to Square One, and you should try again. When the hard disk image has been completely installed, Square One will automatically restart. Please be patient, as the restarting process may take two minutes or more, during which no indication of progress will appear in the browser. You can check whether Square One has finished restarting by reloading the admin welcome page (http://192.168.1.1:8090 by default) periodically.
